What a beautiful story (and a beautiful poem!) — thank you for sharing! It’s so interesting to find similarities in our paths… I too started writing poetry as a teen, then gave up on my dream to become a writer for a few decades, and finally started writing at 40. 🥹

It's never too late to pursue our passions, that's my mantra. That's so cool that you also had a similar path! Was there something significant going on in those decades where you did not write?

Oh, it was a crazy rollercoaster… moving countries, raising my eldest, losing someone dear, starting a new family, having another kid 🙈

Wow! That is a lot going on. Especially the moving of countries! I had my first and then started a “new chapter” later on and had another baby. They are 11 years apart! 🙊

Mine are 14 years apart. 😅 The little one is turning 5 in less than two weeks, and his big brother goes abroad to study at the end of the month 🥹

Awwww! I hope your babes will stay close even when the oldest leaves to study abroad. My oldest will call and FaceTime and play video games with the little one every once in a while. It’s the sweetest! 💕

So brave sharing the photo of your first poem! I burned all mine when I was 17, but I’d kinda like to read all those castles and clouds again now.

Thank you! I debated burning it all, but ultimately kept it in a folder. Sometimes looking back at my writing is a way for me to recognize just how far I have come in the journey!
